Roots & Boards
Community Garden & Woodworking Education
Nursery & Lumber Yard Sponsorship Opportunities
Roots & Boards is a hands-on education program where participants learn practical skills in gardening, permaculture, and woodworking while contributing to projects that serve our local community.
Our pilot sessions are currently being run out of our home while we build the foundation for a small teaching garden and community tool shed.
We are seeking partnerships with local nurseries, garden centers, and lumber yards who want to invest in community education and hands-on learning.
Your donated materials directly support garden builds, outdoor classrooms, and woodworking projects built by participants.
Community Impact Project
Building & Upgrading Food Pantry Boxes
Our first woodworking projects will focus on building and upgrading community food pantry boxes at local churches.
These small pantry boxes allow neighbors to share food with anyone who may need it — no questions asked.
Participants in the Roots & Boards program will learn basic building skills while constructing:
- New food pantry boxes for churches
- Upgrades and repairs to existing pantry boxes
- Weather-resistant structures designed to last in the Texas climate
This project allows participants to learn practical woodworking skills while directly serving the community.
